The leak also suggests that the upcoming smartphone will come with a dual-camera setup on the back, which will co

5 smartphones that turned our heads in 2016

Image
Smartphones continued to be the most popular products in the electronics market this year, but only a few really turned heads. Moto G Play, 4th Gen (White) 2016 hasn’t really been the best year for smartphone innovation, but the second half of the year was still kind to us. Companies showed intent, and even though there products weren’t perfect, they point towards the future of these devices. We looked at a lot of smartphones this year. While we've reviewed most of them, some we used for brief periods. In all this, there were some phones that wowed us with innovation, while others that were plain old run-of-the-mill phones. This is our pick from the phones that actually made us remember them. Moto Z Sure, LG took first crack at modular smartphones, but Motorola did a much better job with it. The Moto Z and Moto Z Play, accompanied with the Moto Mods, did turn a lot of heads. Lenovo got Hasselblad to make a mod for the Moto Z. The True Zoom is a good way to implement optic

ZUK Edge Is Coming Next Week With 6GB Of RAM, Snapdragon 821.

Image
The Lenovo ZUK Edge has been one of the most leaked smartphones lately. ZUK is a Chinese company, and it is backed by Lenovo, even though it’s technically a separate company, just to be clear. In any case, this company had introduced only three smartphones thus far, and the ZUK Edge is supposed to be their fourth and most powerful offering. This smartphone had been certified in China already, by TENAA, so we know how will it look like and what specs it will sport. The company’s CEO confirmed that the phone is coming a couple of weeks ago, and he has just shared some new images via his official Weibo (Chinese social media site) account, read on. The company’s CEO, has shared an actual image of the ZUK Edge, though its back side is covered by a case it seems. He has actually shared two images, and in the second image in the gallery down below you can see the device, along with its retail packaging, and two additional boxes that are packed on the inside, probably for the phone’s charge

Galaxy S8 might have of 6GB of RAM, 256GB of storage.

Image
With the Note7’s discontinuation, Samsung will be on everyone’s watch with high expectations of the company’s next flagship device: the Samsung Galaxy S8. And although we haven’t seen any leaks of the hardware, the rumor mill has been churning out lots of news with no signs of slowing down any time soon. Some new rumors deciphered by TechTastic on Weibo suggest that the Galaxy S8 will feature a 256GB storage option. And it’s not yet known if this is intended to be a standard size or larger storage option. The S8 is also rumored to come with 6GB of RAM, a good decision considering even the Galaxy S7 suffered from TouchWiz jank every now and then. Samsung Galaxy S7 If we recall, the Galaxy Note7 was expected to come out with 6GB of RAM as well, so when the company announced that it would have the same internals as the Galaxy S7 from earlier in the year, some were surprised. So now we expect the Galaxy S8 to have a slick design and improved camera as mentioned by Samsung, an optical f

Surface Phone To Support Snapdragon 835 Chipset & 6GB RAM

Image
The existence of the Surface Phone is really anyone’s guess at the moment. However recently there was a glimmer of hope when Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella hinted that the company was working on the “ultimate mobile device”. Now thanks to Nokia Power User, alleged specs have surfaced. Unsurprisingly one of the rumored specs of the Surface Phone includes the use of the Snapdragon 835 chipset is expected to be Qualcomm’s flagship chipset for 2017. The report also says that Microsoft is currently prototyping two phones: one with 4GB of RAM, and one with 6GB of RAM. 4GB might seem low compared to some Android phones, but note that since Microsoft controls the operating system, they will probably be able to optimize it, kind of like how Apple’s iPhones feature less RAM than the competition, but yet somehow are faster than the competition. The rumor also says that we can look forward to a 5.5-inch QHD display, but NPU points out that this is based on what their sources saw, and not actual

Nokia launches new phone section on its website

Image
Not so long ago, a few surfaced Nokia slideshows confirmed the company is indeed planning to make a comeback to the world of smartphones in 2017. Well if you need more confirmation, let us tell you that the Finish company already launched the new phone section on its site today, so new smartphones are most certainly in the pipeline. For the time being Nokia’s new handset set greets users by saying “Inspired by ambition, made for everyone”. It also re-states the fact that new devices are pegged for 2017. A disclaimer says the website is operated by HMD Global Oy, the exclusive licensee of the Nokia brand for phones and tablets. If we are to listen to the information coming from the rumor mill, in 2017 Nokia is expected to unveil two smartphones, one with a 5.2-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch screen both with QHD resolution. The Snapdragon 820 will be the chipset fueling the two devices, but given that the Snapdragon 835 has been already announced, it seems more likely the p

Le Pro3 review: Flagship specs, low cost, and a horrible user experience

Image
Look at the LeEco Le Pro3’s spec sheet and you will find a phone that rivals Google’s very own flagship Pixel lineup. The latest and greatest Qualcomm processor? Check. Massive battery? Check. 64GB of storage? Check. 4GB of RAM? Unlocked and compatible with GSM carriers? An impressive design? Check, check, and check. Then you look at its $399 price tag, and begin to question if it’s too good to be true. Heck, at one point the Le Pro3 was priced at $299 during a flash sale promotion to kick off its availability in the U.S. market. How can a phone on paper look so good, while at the same time requiring you to hand over so little of your hard earned money? The answer: LeEco. LeEco made a splash in October with an extravagant launch event here in the US. The Chinese company purchased popular TV manufacturer Vizio last year, and is now ready to take on the U.S. market. Or so it thought, with the company’s CEO stating just last week that it was growing too fast and running out of money.

OnePlus 3T To Launch In India Today: Read Complete Details

OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 3T smartphone in India on Friday, at an event in New Delhi. To recall, the OnePlus 3T was first unveiled last month, and so far, has been made available in the US, Europe, and the UK. In these regions, the smartphone has replaced the original OnePlus 3 (Review). However, that may not be the case in India - as OnePlus earlier confirmed to Gadgets 360 that it will "continue to sell the OnePlus 3 in India" which means both smartphones may be available in the market. The only differences between the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 are a faster SoC, increased storage, an improved front camera, and a larger battery. In the US, the 64GB model has been priced at $439 (roughly Rs. 29,800), while the 128GB model has been priced at $479 (roughly Rs. 32,500). To recall, the OnePlus 3 was launched at $399 (priced at Rs. 27,999 in India) - and it was only available in a 64GB model. Getting to the exact differences between the OnePlus 3T and the OnePlus 3 -
